Dr. Benton P. Dammel, a native of southwestern Ohio, matriculated from the Chicago area where he attended chiropractic school at The National University of Health Sciences. Before deciding to become a chiropractor, Dr. Dammel was a student-athlete at Ohio University. At OU, he earned a bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology and Biology. He served as vice president of the cycling team and was a member of the triathlon club. As a long-time serious athlete, Dr. Dammel has experienced and witnessed numerous athletic injuries. These experiences are what inspired him to attend chiropractic school. While earning his Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Dammel was an assistant to Dr. Susan Darby, professor of neuro-anatomy. The knowledge of clinical neurology that he gained from Dr. Darby allowed him to broaden his approach to patient care. For his internship, Dr. Dammel worked alongside well-known sports chiropractor Dr. Scott Fladland. Dr. Dammel was able to satisfy his passion of treating sports injuries while learning from one of the best in the field. Since the opening of Dammel Chiropractic & Rehabilitation in January, 2008, Dr. Dammel has been able to help many people by offering a variety of services. He feels that with the combined benefits of chiropractic with physiotherapy and massage, patients have higher success rate for preventing re-injury and chronic pain. As a specialist in sports injuries, it is Dr. Dammels goal to help athletes return to competition as quickly as possible. . |
